Simulation & Analysis Engineer – Turbo System Design

We are looking for an experienced Simulation & Analysis Engineer to join the Turbo System Design team. You will play a central role in advanced engine flow simulations and turbomachinery analysis, acting as a critical link between CFD/1D simulation teams. You must have a strong background in CFD and turbomachinery, with hands-on experience in Star-CCM+ (and/or similar simulation tools), and be able to rapidly contribute to ongoing and future programs in close collaboration with other teams in Sweden and India.

Key Competence Areas & Responsibilities

• Perform advanced flow and turbomachinery simulations, including:
• Compressor and turbine system calculations
• Setup and validation of 3D CFD cases for engine system air path and turbo systems
• Boundary condition definition and support for mechanical analysis and EATS (Exhaust Aftertreatment System) simulations
• Support the site lab with flow-related analyses, for example:
• Support of turbocharger testing, including test specification, follow‑up of test campaigns and evaluation of test results
• Supporting the laboratory with CFD simulations related to test setups, installations etc.
• Contribute to hydrogen (H₂) installation risk assessments by using CFD simulations to study flow, leak scenarios and ventilation concepts.
• Take an active role in supplier interactions as a technical counterpart in turbo supplier meetings, providing simulation-based evaluations and requirements.
• Drive and support method development for:
• Early developments
• Specific site Flow Center turbo tests
• Turbo compressor map handling for 1D simulations and consistent data exchange between CFD and 1D tools as GTPower
• Engage with external and internal expert communities
• Work closely with CFD, 1D and testing teams across sites in Sweden and India to ensure consistent methods, robust boundary conditions, and high-quality data flow between simulation and testing.
